    Description

    A very fine antique silver and enamel snuff box, with interior pharaonic scene.
    France, circa 1840.
    This pretty and RARE snuff box, is a high quality piece, the lid is decorated with a pharaonic interior scene, a queen is on a bed surrounded by servants, in a frame decorated with blue enamel.
    The 4 sides of the box is decorated with blue guilloché enamel.
    The base also decorated with blue guilloché enamel.
    The inside is gilded, the lid and the base each of them has 2 stamps. A head of a lady, and a maker initials J.C ( or J. L ) in a rectangular form.
    I am not sure what these stamps refers to, probably the guarantee French stamp,and the maker mark.
    Also the lid from outside has a stamp.( Unidentified )
