Stunning Antique French Sterling Silver 25 Flatware Set - maybe for stew and/or soup - by Henin & Vivier in its original box.
This set includes 12 spoons, 12 forks & 1 ladle, each marked on the front with the marker's mark "H&V" with a rosebud & star. The bowls are also marked with the Minerva mark, meaning .950 sterling silver
The backside of each piece also has a mark, but we cannot make it out.
The measurements are as follows:
Ladle - 13 1/2" long, 244 grams.
Spoon - 8 1/4" long, 82 grams each (a total of 12 spoons)
Fork - 8 1/4" long, 84 grams each (a total of 12 forks)
This set is a total of 2,236 grams in weight.
This particular set comes from the descendants of the well-known Dreyfus family that reside in the greater Philadelphia area.
This is a unique, antique, beautiful and a one-of-a-kind set with a history attached to it!
As shown, this set comes in its original case, which is black with a red/orange velvet interior. The case does show signs of age, with some tears, rips and scratches, especially along the edges. The inside interior also has some spots & discoloration. The flatware is in great condition; it will just need to be polish & has very minor scratches. Please view all pictures. Thank you!
