Antique French 800 Silver Vermeil 15pc Teaspoons Lion Paws Tongs Tea Strainer & Scoop Capelet & Guthe 1885-1895 Paris
Antique French 800 gilt silver complete tea service boxed set by Capelet & Guthe, Paris, active 1885-1895, of neo-classical design rich gold plated silver twelve teaspoons, tea strainer & a tea scoop decorated with thin reeded design, the back of each spoon applied with scrolling foliage surrounding an oval cartouche emblems with-in double scroll frame (each item monogrammed), The sugar tongs ornamented with matching reeded design & embossed with highly attractive lion's paws with single leaf spay décor. The tea strainer accommodated with hinged double spread clip for the tea pot's spout. Overall the silver set is in very good condition, rarely used, the box show some split to top wood panel, missing three brass inlay strings, multiple scratches to lacquer, internal stains, no key, missing front brass key hole plaque.
