Harold Speed English Painter Wrote Instructional Books for Artists Signed Letter

Harold Speed [1872 1957] was an English painter in oil and watercolor of portraits, figures and historical subjects. He began painting in 1891, and in 1896 he was elected to the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. In 1907 he held his first one-man exhibition at Leicester Galleries. Speed also wrote instructional books for artists that are very popular and remain in print to this day. Listed for auction is a [ALS] autograph letter signed by Harold Speed. The letter is dated 15 June 1945 and is addressed to a collector and is signed ''Yours sincerely Harold Speed'' in black fountain pen. The letter measures 7.00 x 9.00 inches and is in fine condition and will be accompanied with its original transmittal envelope.
