I am selling a collection of antique chatelaine items included several chatelaine pill / snuff boxes, some examples seen in the last photo so please see my other offerings and thanks for stopping by!
ABOUT:
French octagon shaped Art Nouveau silver plate chatelaine snuff or pill or makeup / powder box with hinged lid, with a lot of ornate decorative elements including garland, flowers, a scalloped edge and fully decorated underside.  The inside of the lid has a beveled mirror and a vibrantly gold washed / vermeil base.  Smells faintly of powder that it was likely used for.  I acquired this piece in France, it is an antique piece from the Belle Epoque period. Very pretty design and useful.  I use a similar one to carry a chunk of shea butter hand balm lotion in my purse.  : )
Chain not included.  I do have some delicate sterling chains in 18 or 24 inch length if you'd like to add one to your order, just let me know.
NO MONOGRAMS on the piece.
MARKS:
No hallmarks, this as an antique silver plated item.
CONDITION NOTES:
In estate condition considering age.  One deep ding on the right side of the lid and two more shallow pinhead impressions to the top middle of the rim.  It has been hand polished and cleaned up nicely.  I don't see any areas of plate loss, it still presents as a nice silver color with dark patina in the background of the designs to make the details stand out.   Hinge is still nice and tight and the lid snaps closed securely. Like all my estate items -  please note that while the piece is sturdy and has many years of use left, it is not in mint condition.

Measures about 1 3/4 inches in diameter.
