on gold-filled trim;  pencil top is engraved Dr. J.M.G.;  pen sacs are fresh;  button-filler mechanisms work as intended;  nibs have smooth points and allow enough flex for making very fine to nearly medium lines;  pencil advances and retracts lead as intended; eraser is hard.  Please see pictures, including writing sample.
