You are bidding on a signed magazine page of a Vargas Girl. The page is neatly signed by Alberto Vargas in the right bottom corner. It is also dated, 1982, by Alberto Vargas. That is notable because he passed away in December 30, 1982 and this could be among the last autographs ever signed by Alberto Vargas. His signatures are rare and very collectible!!!
The magazine page is 11" by 8". It is very possible that it came out of a Playboy magazine. The opposite page of the Vargas Girl has a photo of a bare-breasted woman and is part of a larger article (refer to picture in listing).
It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Joaquin Alberto Vargas y Chávez (9 February 1896 – 30 December 1982) was a noted Peruvian-American painter of pin-up girls. He is often considered one of the most famous of the pin-up artists. Numerous Vargas paintings have sold and continue to sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
