Vintage Black Aero-metric Parker 51 Demi Fountain Pen With Fine 51 - 14K Nib and Matte chrome cap design with Pearl jewel.
The Aero-metric “51” Demi began production in 1948, the design is a little longer than the Vacumatic-filling Demi and a little thinner than the standard pen. It has a nice slender fit in your hand.
There is not a date code on the barrel to indicate the actual date of production.
This pen is in working condition, it fills and writes well. The Fine 14K nib writes very smooth and floats across the page. Overall the pen is in very good condition, very clean, however it has a micro ding as shown in the photo, the pen has been priced accordingly due this issue. Based on the condition of the filler It is evident that this pen has never been filled with ink. I didn’t fill the pen for the writing sample, I just dipped the nib in ink bottle
The pen is an aero-metric fill, it has the later U shaped filler. As I mentioned it’s never been filled with ink, you can clearly see the filler tube through the translucent vinyl ink bladder.
The 8 line imprint on the filler reads
"To fill
press ribbed bar four
times. Wipe front end,
Pen point down, with
soft tissue. Use dry writing
Superchrome ink
